    Good basic talk phone
Got this for my kids to use works perfect as a basic talk phone. Text is also very basic. Its great it has different language options. Can add contacts in any language we prefer. The phone doesnt take long to charge and holds a battery charge pretty long when used just for basic talk. Camera quality is what id expect of this type of phone nithing to brag about. The phone has been holding up pretty well for the last couple of months andis used by my kids only.

    Terrible product.
This phone is not very good. It appears to be charging correctly when I plug it in. However as soon as I unplug it, the screen goes black. It doesn’t turn on, it doesn’t show a low battery warning, it basically bricks it. Rendering It a completely useless device and waste of money. I had the phone plugged in consecutively for about 24 hours. No sign of “life” in the phone in the slightest bit. Originally purchased because I want a phone without internet. As well as not having to worry about it breaking easily as the pictures made the phone look pretty durable with the shell essentially being a built in phone case. The size is what I was looking for. It’s a nice design for a compact phone. Nothing too fancy nothing too small. I would give 0 stars if I could but it’s all gone in the wind for now.

If you are a millennial or older it’s not hard to use
People saying it’s hard to use either didn’t grow up in the 80’s and 90’s or are so old they forgot how to use tech from less than 20 years ago. It’s annoying to revert back to T-9 typing after using smart phones, but it’s not hard to figure out nor impossible. In fact there’s a great review of this very phone on YouTube showing you how to use it. There’s Literally no reason to buy a “dumb phone” and then complain about how dumb it is. It’s not hard. Anyway I got this phone for my daughter. I don’t want her having a smart phone. I know about the kids phone plans offered by companies like Gabb wireless, but they are so expensive and a smart phone still has an appeal even if it’s got parental locks. This rugged basic phone here is affordable, and it doesn’t have internet browsing or an App Store. It just texts and calls. I didn’t even want to buy her a phone, but now that middle schoolers get extra curricular activities just as much as high schoolers I relented. I love how study this phone is. Dropping it doesn’t kill it like it would kill an iPhone or Samsung. The true annoying thing about it is that when it turns off and back on you’re locked out. You have to get the SIM card out, write down the PUK numbers on it, and then type in the PUK code to open it up. The screen size is small. Receiving texts is a tad annoying because the resolution is low and large bodies of text may not appear on the same page. Photos are grainy, and It functions in the realm of bare minimum. No touch screen. No bells and whistles. It truly is a phone that has no appeal to a kid/tween which is perfect. She texts her friends a little, but it mostly gets sat down or put away and that makes it a perfect starter phone. T9 makes too much texting annoying, too. So she’s discouraged from spending a lot of time on it. The only thing I hate is that I can’t control spam calls. So I had to teach her about not answering unknown numbers.

USA MetroPCS Compatable in 2024. A millenial’s review.
This phone is compatible with MetroPCS, however they will not let me continue my grandfathered in old phone plan. They want me to pick another (more expensive) “Flex” plan. I believe this is the case for any phone i switch to, not just because this is a special “dumb” phone. As for the phone itself? Awesome. If you are looking for a phone straight out of 2005 that you can use on today’s networks, this one is it. It doesn’t lag. It not some Kai-os sudo-android interface running on slow hardware causing lagging and crashing. It’s a true dumb phone. The software feels like a true dumb phone. But it also has a few tricks up it’s sleeve:- Bluetooth- Dual Sims- Calculator- Flashlight- Micro-SD card slot- Something like 32mb of onboard storage- Plays Mp3’s. They can play in the background, so you can have music going while texting someone. Yes, this WORKS WITH BLUETOOTH headphones or your car, and yes, it actually sounds good. Play them off the tiny internal memory or a Micro-SD card. You can also plug the USB cable it comes with from the phone to your computer and access both the Micro-SD card slot and the phone’s internal memory as separate drives. So you don’t need a Micro-SD card reader on your computer.- FM Radio (doesn’t work with bluetooth headphones for some reason, but you can play it through the speakerphone)- Upload your own ringtones and notification sounds. You can store them on the Micro-SD card or the internal memory.- Camera. It’s garbage. Even by early 2000’s standards its garbage. But it does exist, you can send and receive pictures, store them internally, upload them to your computer through USB, etc. I don’t plan on using it, but if my wife wants to send me a picture of something, at least i can see it. You kind of need a camera phone to do that with. Non-camera dumb phones typically don’t receive pictures of have screens capable of rendering pictures. This one will do it.It is a little big and cheap feeling, but I don’t think dropping it will break it. It has kind of that “jitterbug” old people phone aesthetic more in real life than in the pictures. But as a millennial who’s first cellphone was a Kyocera K7 Rave running on Virgin Mobile for 25 cents per minute, this phone has my approval as an official dumb-phone if you’re trying to take your life back from phone addiction.

    basic not simple
i got this for my husband, however it is not easy to use. I wish I could return it, but I had already taken it out, and purchased and added the SIM card before I knew this wasn’t something I could use.

Amazing back to basics phone. The phones in the 90’s were just so solid and reliable, I’m so happy that a similar phone has come back into the market. The only thing it’s missing is some of the old school games like snake. We got it primarily as a starter phone for our tweens to give them more independence on venturing out on their own whilst not having to worry Abt the constant dangers that lurk behind the Internet and social media yet being able to contact us at any point. It’s a no-brainer compared to having so many parental controls on a smartphone that genius kids nowadays can workaround.Being honest, I have not nor do I want to try out the shatterproof or waterproof capabilities, I’ll just play on the safe side. Nor have I tried it out with multiple sim cards and see how switching from one to another works. But it has all the features necessary, favorite contacts, messaging, torch, music. The biggest issue now is teaching kids how to type using this system (I don’t even know what it’s called! But I used to be able to type at lightning speed without looking).

bought phone for senior citizen who is not tech savvy, she is happy with the phone.
